The ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken an interesting turn, with pop star Taylor Swift unexpectedly drawn into the narrative. Resurfaced interviews suggest Swift played a part in casting Isabela Ferrer, the young actress who portrayed Lively's character, Lily Bloom, in their film "It Ends With Us."
Director Baldoni sought an actress resembling Lively and reportedly consulted both Lively and Swift about Ferrer's audition tape. Both gave their approval, a detail confirmed by Ferrer herself, who expressed surprise and excitement at Swift's involvement.

Swift's connection to the film extends beyond casting. Baldoni's lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, includes text messages referencing Swift. The messages allude to Lively leveraging her friendship with Swift to secure the use of Swift's song, "My Tears Ricochet," in the film's trailer and a key scene, amidst alleged disagreements over the film's editing and marketing. Baldoni also claims Lively used Swift and Reynolds' presence to influence his acceptance of Lively's script rewrites.

Lively, in her response included in the complaint, referred to Swift and Reynolds as her protective "dragons" who champion her creative contributions. The question now arises whether Swift will be compelled to testify if the case proceeds to trial in 2026. Legal experts offer differing opinions, with some suggesting Swift's testimony could be deemed relevant, while others believe she has a strong chance of avoiding a subpoena due to the minimal impact her testimony might have on the core issues of the case.
