A suspected gas explosion rocked Mr. Won’s Samgyeopsal Korean restaurant in Calapan, Philippines, on Thursday, injuring at least 15 people and causing damage to the restaurant and two adjacent food establishments. The incident occurred in a shopping mall where the restaurant is situated on the ground floor. Authorities reported that four restaurant employees and a delivery driver, who were present in preparation for the restaurant's opening, were among those injured. The blast also impacted twelve parked vehicles in the vicinity, causing minor damage.

Regional police chief Brig. Gen. Joel Doria addressed public concerns, assuring a thorough investigation. He encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact authorities. While cooking gas is suspected as the cause of the explosion, the investigation remains ongoing.
