Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is preparing for the biggest game of his career, the NFC Championship. While fans and loved ones will be cheering him on, one person will be watching with a particularly protective eye: his mother, Regina Jackson.
Jackson recently voiced concerns about her son's newfound fame and the potential pitfalls that come with it, especially regarding romantic interests. In a clip from Amazon Prime's docuseries "The Money Game," she expressed worry about women trying to take advantage of Daniels' success and financial stability. "Girls, them girls," she stated, highlighting her concern about those who might be pursuing her son for the wrong reasons. She even went so far as to say she believes some mothers encourage their daughters to pursue Daniels for his wealth. "Thank god he got a mama like me because it ain't happening," Jackson affirmed.

Daniels, seemingly unfazed by his mother's protective stance, responded with a laugh, "I bet she did say something like that." He has previously spoken about his mother's attentiveness to his inner circle, emphasizing her ability to discern who is genuinely supportive of him. "Nothing gets past my mama," Daniels told Boardroom. "She reads people, she doesn't want to put people around me that she doesn't feel will benefit me."

Former Eagles running back and current FOX Sports co-host LeSean McCoy echoed Jackson's sentiments, suggesting such maternal protectiveness is common. This protective instinct comes as Daniels' NFL career takes off. He led the Commanders to an upset victory against the Detroit Lions, throwing two touchdowns and securing a spot in the NFC Championship. The Commanders will face the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, with the winner advancing to Super Bowl LIX.
