Interior designer Dominique Vidal shared a chilling voicemail and recounted peculiar interactions with suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann. Vidal revealed on TikTok that she and Heuermann, a 59-year-old Manhattan architect, were once part of the same networking group. Even after Vidal left the group due to time constraints, Heuermann continued to contact her, leaving a voicemail stating, "Hey, this is Rex from the BNI Group. I actually heard you are no longer part of the group. I still wanted to talk to you." He then provided his contact information and expressed his hope to connect soon.
Vidal found Heuermann's persistence strange, especially since they had no professional projects together. She described him as "odd" and "perpetually sweaty," a "monster hiding in plain sight." She recounted a group dinner where Heuermann dominated the conversation, focusing primarily on himself. Later, Vidal mentioned her interest in true crime podcasts, including those about the unsolved Gilgo Beach murders. Heuermann reportedly responded by pointing out that the perpetrator of the decade-old crimes, which occurred in his hometown, was still at large.
Vidal expressed her disturbance and disappointment, characterizing Heuermann as an unwelcome presence in an otherwise friendly networking group. Heuermann is facing charges for the murders of three women whose remains were discovered near Gilgo Beach in 2010, and he is a suspect in a fourth death. All the victims were sex workers who advertised online. The case remained unsolved for over a decade after the initial discovery of the remains during the search for missing escort Shannan Gilbert.
