Trump Announces Key Appointments for DOJ, OMB, and RNC

Former President Donald Trump has unveiled several significant appointments for his prospective administration, including positions within the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Harmeet K. Dhillon has been nominated for the role of Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the DOJ. Trump praised Dhillon's career-long dedication to protecting civil liberties, highlighting her actions against Big Tech censorship, advocacy for religious freedom during the COVID-19 pandemic, and legal challenges against corporations employing allegedly discriminatory woke policies. He also emphasized her credentials as a top election lawyer and her commitment to ensuring only legal votes are counted. Dhillon is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Law School and clerked for the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mark Paoletta will return as General Counsel of the OMB. Trump anticipates Paoletta will collaborate with the Department of Government Efficiency to streamline the federal bureaucracy and eliminate wasteful spending. Trump lauded Paoletta as a skilled lawyer instrumental in advancing his agenda during his first term, particularly regarding securing funding for the border wall. Paoletta is a partner at Shaerr Jaffe LLP and a senior fellow at the Center for Renewing America. He also played a key role in the confirmation of Justice Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court in 1991.

For the RNC, Trump endorsed KC Crosbie to succeed Lara Trump as co-chair. Trump commended Lara Trump and Chairman Michael Whatley for their work in strengthening the RNC and expressed confidence in Crosbie's ability to maintain the committee's effectiveness and prioritize election integrity. He praised Crosbie's track record of supporting Republican candidates and emphasized her commitment to a fiscally responsible and efficient RNC.
