WWE Star Asuka Reports Feeling Threatened by Fans, Contacts Police

Four-time world champion WWE wrestler Asuka has revealed she contacted the police after experiencing unsettling fan interactions involving unwanted "romantic" advances. The Japanese wrestler, whose real name is Kanako Urai, shared her concerns on social media, expressing her heightened sense of vulnerability in public spaces like airports and city streets.

While she refrained from detailing specific incidents, Asuka firmly stated the need for fans to cease their "romantic" pursuits, emphasizing the futility of such behavior and its intrusion into her personal life.

This incident underscores a growing concern within the wrestling community regarding overzealous fans. In a chillingly similar case, WWE star Sonya Deville faced a terrifying ordeal in 2020 when a stalker broke into her home with the intention of kidnapping her. The perpetrator was subsequently sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Currently recovering from a knee injury sustained in May 2024, the 43-year-old Asuka has been absent from the ring. The celebrated wrestler boasts an impressive career, holding the record for the longest NXT women's championship reign and securing victories in the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank.
