Reports indicate that the Trump administration has issued an ultimatum to several high-ranking FBI officials, demanding their resignations. While the precise number remains undisclosed, sources suggest the directive targets individuals appointed during Christopher A. Wray's tenure as FBI Director.
This development comes as Kash Patel, Trump's nominee for FBI Director, testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee, assuring senators he will not engage in retaliatory actions or dwell on past events. "I have no interest, no desire and will not, if confirmed, go backwards," Patel stated. "There will be no politicization at the FBI. There will be no retributive actions taken."

The New York Times reports that one senior agent received an email informing him of his impending dismissal, effective as early as Monday morning. The agent expressed surprise at the decision, stating he received no explanation.

During the Senate hearing, Patel denied any knowledge of plans for retribution against FBI personnel connected to Trump investigations. In response to questioning from Senator Cory Booker, Patel stated, "I am not aware of that, senator."

The news of the ultimatum has caused concern, particularly given that Patel's nomination is still pending. Brian Driscoll currently serves as acting FBI Director. The FBI declined to comment on the situation.
