One of the individuals accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual assault has admitted to making light of the alleged incident with friends, using humor as a coping mechanism for the trauma. The accuser, who remains anonymous, testified that he fell asleep in Spacey's apartment and awoke to the actor performing oral sex on him. He explained that the jokes were a way to process the distressing experience.
During cross-examination, Spacey's attorney, Patrick Gibbs, questioned the accuser about these jokes and presented evidence of apparent communication between the accuser and Spacey after the alleged assault. The accuser acknowledged initially resisting police requests for phone records and social media access but denied obstructing the investigation, which failed to recover his records from the relevant period.

He also denied maintaining contact with Spacey for four months following the alleged incident, despite data from Spacey's phone seemingly indicating calls and text messages to the accuser's number. The accuser firmly rejected suggestions that he fabricated the allegations due to shame about a potential sexual encounter with Spacey, stating, "This line of questioning is offensive. Nothing happened that was consensual."
The accuser explained that Spacey was an idol of his, and he had written to the actor seeking inspiration and hoping for a meeting. He expressed surprise when Spacey contacted him weeks later, inviting him for a drink. While aware of rumors about Spacey's sexual orientation and preferences, the accuser admitted to being naive in accepting the invitation to Spacey's apartment. He described feeling uneasy and sensing Spacey's intentions after consuming marijuana and beer, recounting an incident where Spacey hugged him and nuzzled his head in his crotch. He pushed Spacey away and attempted to steer the conversation.

He likened the experience to "being circled by a shark." He further testified to feeling drugged and falling asleep, waking up hours later on the sofa with his pants open and Spacey kneeling over him. The accuser explained that he decided to come forward in 2017 after other allegations against Spacey surfaced during the #MeToo movement. In a police interview played for the jury, the accuser became emotional as he detailed the incident, which he claimed he had never disclosed to friends. He stated that he pushed Spacey away, and the actor told him to leave.

This accuser is the fourth and final alleged victim to testify against Spacey in the London trial, where the actor faces 12 charges related to alleged sexual assaults between 2001 and 2013, during his tenure at the Old Vic theater. Spacey denies all accusations, and his lawyer has suggested the accusers are motivated by financial gain.
