Veteran actor Treat Williams, renowned for his roles in "Hair" and "Everwood," tragically passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the age of 71 following a motorcycle accident in Dorset, Vermont. The Vermont State Police confirmed the incident, stating that Williams' motorcycle collided with a Honda SUV on Morse Hill Road around 4:53 p.m.
Preliminary investigations suggest the SUV, a 2008 Honda Element, was signaling a left turn into a parking lot when it turned into the path of Williams' northbound 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle. Williams was unable to avoid the collision and was ejected from his motorcycle, sustaining critical injuries. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where he was sadly pronounced dead.
The SUV driver was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The Vermont State Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the accident, with the Crash Reconstruction Team continuing to process the scene.
Williams' career spanned decades, beginning with his film debut in "Deadly Hero" in 1975. He appeared in numerous films and television series, including "Heartland," "Chesapeake Shores," "127 Hours," "The Congressman," and "12 Mighty Orphans." Most recently, he held a recurring role as Lenny Ross in the popular police procedural drama "Blue Bloods."
Just hours before the tragic accident, Williams posted on social media about enjoying a peaceful afternoon mowing his lawn in Vermont.
