Restaurant's Epic Mozzarella Sticks Go Viral, Prompting Dedicated Chef Hire

Prepare to be amazed by mozzarella sticks that have taken the internet by storm! The Winchester restaurant in Tenerife, Spain, has become a sensation thanks to its incredibly long, cheese-pulling mozzarella sticks, first gaining popularity in May 2023.

The demand for these cheesy behemoths has grown so much that The Winchester hired a dedicated chef to keep up. They now use over 200 pounds of mozzarella each week to satisfy cheese lovers' cravings.

Officially called "Giant Panko Mozzarella Sticks," the menu describes them as "3 Giant Mozzarella Sticks coated in Panko breadcrumbs served with a choice of dip." Dip options include chili, lime & garlic mayo, Jack Daniels BBQ, Sweet Chili Mayo, and Extra Hot Piri Piri sauce.

The menu even proudly labels the dish as "TikTok Famous." The initial social media posts about the sticks claimed the experience alone was worth the plane ticket to Tenerife.

Gonzalez, who visited with her boyfriend Nathan Davis, raved about the mozzarella sticks, calling them the best she's ever had. The couple, from Manchester, England, documented their December 2024 trip on their joint social media account, "Nathan and Grace." They had previously visited Tenerife in July 2024 and May 2023.

The impressive cheese pull spanned almost Gonzalez's entire wingspan, even longer than her previous experience. She jokingly compared the stringy cheese to a jump rope.

Gonzalez highly recommended the sticks with sweet chili mayo and reiterated that they were worth the trip to Tenerife. She praised the crispy panko breading and advised anyone attempting to recreate the cheese pull to do it immediately while the sticks are hot.
