Following an extensive search for escaped murder suspect Michael Charles Burham, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have announced that a previously released doorbell video, believed to show Burham, has been misidentified. Lt. Col. George Bivens clarified in a Saturday press conference that they are now "relatively certain" the individual in the video was not Burham, but they maintain a strong belief he remains within the search area of northwestern Pennsylvania and western New York.

Despite the mistaken identity, law enforcement urges the public to remain vigilant. Residents are encouraged to continue reviewing home surveillance footage and report any suspicious activity. The search continues for Burham, described as a self-taught survivalist equipped for outdoor survival. Authorities are also requesting that anyone spending time outdoors report any discovered stashes of supplies or seemingly abandoned campsites.

Burham, an Army veteran with survival and firearms training, escaped from Warren County jail on July 6th. He was being held on kidnapping charges and is a suspect in a murder and rape case in New York. His escape involved using bedsheets to create a rope and descend from the jail's rooftop. He was last seen wearing a denim jacket, orange-striped jumpsuit, and Crocs. Authorities, including over 150 officers from various agencies, are investigating potential sightings in Pennsylvania and New York, suspecting Burham may have changed clothes. They also believe he may be receiving external assistance.
