Six German tourists, aged between 20 and 21, were apprehended in Playa de Palma, Mallorca, on Thursday following accusations of gang-raping an 18-year-old woman. The alleged assault took place in a hotel room earlier that morning. Mallorca, a popular European tourist destination known for its beaches, wineries, and vibrant nightlife, is now the scene of this serious investigation.

The victim, also a tourist, reportedly met one of the suspects on Wednesday evening while socializing with friends in the bustling bar and nightclub district of Playa de Palma Boulevard. After spending time together, they returned to the suspect's hotel room. According to the woman’s statement, she tried to leave the room but was prevented from doing so by the suspects, several of whom then allegedly assaulted her. The incident allegedly occurred around 3:40 am on Thursday.

The woman eventually escaped and notified a hotel receptionist, who promptly contacted the authorities. Five suspects were apprehended at the scene, while the sixth was arrested later that day. Under Spanish law, gang rape can result in prison sentences of up to 15 years. This incident follows two other recent arrests at Palma Airport in Mallorca involving British tourists accused of sexual assault, highlighting concerns about tourist safety on the island.
