A large-scale search operation is underway in the wilderness near Mt. Hood, Oregon, for a 61-year-old woman who went missing during a hike with her two dogs. Susan Lane-Fournier of Brightwood was last seen on Friday and was reported missing after she didn't arrive for work. Authorities believe she disappeared while hiking with her two Malinois-mix dogs on the Green Canyon Way Trail near Welches.
The search effort, which began over the weekend, has covered over 100 miles of trails in the challenging terrain of the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness. Thirty-seven searchers, along with two drone teams and two U.S. Forest Service snowmobilers, have been deployed, but so far, there have been no signs of Lane-Fournier or her dogs.

Lane-Fournier's vehicle, a white 1992 Ford F-250, was found parked near the trailhead on Saturday, prompting the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office to initiate the search and rescue operation. While Lane-Fournier is familiar with the area, it's unknown if she was equipped for an overnight stay. Worryingly, temperatures in the region have dipped into the 30s, accompanied by light rain.

Lane-Fournier is described as 5-foot-2, weighing 150 pounds, with reddish-brown hair. Authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
