Indiana Man Sentenced to 41 Years for Role in Fatal Van Crash

A Muncie, Indiana resident has received a 41-year prison sentence for his involvement in a 2017 van accident that tragically claimed the life of a six-year-old girl. Thirty-three-year-old Nathaniel Jordan was sentenced on Thursday by Delaware County Circuit Judge Linda Ralu Wolf, following his June 8th conviction on multiple charges, including battery and neglect of a dependent resulting in death. The accident occurred in May 2017 on the Muncie Bypass. The young victim, Taelyn Ann Marie Woodson, was not secured in a safety seat at the time of the crash. Her mother, Jessica Skeens, who was driving the van, and her three other children survived. Skeens claimed that Jordan struck her while she was driving, causing the accident. She, too, received a 41-year sentence in 2019 after being found guilty of several charges, including neglect of a dependent resulting in death and driving under the influence. Her appeal to the state Supreme Court was rejected.
