Miami Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios recently addressed rumors surrounding his breakup with model Sophia Culpo and his subsequent relationship with influencer Alix Earle. In an Instagram story, Berrios clarified that his split from Culpo, which occurred in January, was mutual and unrelated to any third party. He expressed his desire to move past the situation and for everyone involved to find happiness.
Berrios explained that the two-year relationship was healthy but ultimately didn't work out. He stated, "We had conversations along the lines of ‘we just weren’t working out.’ So, when we split back in January, that’s why." He found it "weird and sad" to see the subsequent speculation and felt compelled to address the situation publicly, despite preferring to keep his private life private.
While Berrios didn't mention Culpo or Earle by name, his statement follows Culpo's now-deleted TikTok video hinting at "love bombing" in a new relationship. Culpo later downplayed the video, stating it "wasn’t that deep." She had previously revealed on Instagram that she learned of the alleged infidelity through social media, which left her feeling hurt and confused. She emphasized her desire to simply share her story without assigning blame.
Berrios and Earle have been seen together publicly in recent weeks, including at the Palm Tree Festival. Culpo has not publicly responded to Berrios' recent statement.
