Fetterman to Assess Trump Cabinet Picks with Open Mind

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has affirmed his commitment to thoughtfully evaluating President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominations. He emphasized his responsibility to engage in discussions with the nominees before reaching a decision on their confirmation.

In a recent social media post, Fetterman stated he had already met with Rep. Elise Stefanik, Pete Hegseth, and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and planned further meetings with other potential appointees. He stressed that forming an informed opinion through dialogue is a crucial part of his senatorial duty.

Trump has nominated Stefanik for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, and Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence. While Fetterman has previously expressed support for Stefanik's nomination, his stance on Hegseth and Gabbard remains unclear. Fox News Digital's request for further comment on his voting intentions regarding these two nominees went unanswered.

Fetterman has consistently and firmly supported Israel, particularly following the Hamas terrorist attack in October 2023. He reiterated this support while expressing his endorsement of Stefanik, emphasizing his hope that she will hold the UN accountable for its perceived anti-Israel bias.

Furthermore, Fetterman has pledged to support Senator Marco Rubio's confirmation as Secretary of State, acknowledging Rubio as a "strong choice" despite their political differences.
