Crandon Fire Department Captain Brennan Cook informed WJFW-TV that the ride had recently undergone a state inspection. The exact cause of the malfunction remains under investigation. Following the rescue, all eight passengers were transported to a hospital for evaluation. Local reports indicate seven of the individuals were children.
