During Ohio State's Cotton Bowl victory against Texas, quarterback Will Howard's left hand became the center of attention after he appeared to injure it in the first half. The injury, which resulted in a noticeable lump, sparked concern and speculation across social media.

Reports suggest the injury occurred when Howard's hand made contact with a Longhorns player's helmet. Despite the visible swelling, ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe confirmed that Howard received no treatment during the game. Following the Buckeyes' win, Howard reassured ESPN's Jake Trotter that his hand was "just fine."

Howard's performance remained unaffected by the injury. He completed 24 of 33 passes for 289 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. In his first season with Ohio State after transferring, Howard has positioned the Buckeyes for a potential national championship title, their first in over a decade.

Ohio State is set to face Notre Dame in the national championship game in Atlanta on January 20th.
