Tyler Farr's Take on the Bud Light Controversy and His New EP 'Rednecks Like Me'

Country music star Tyler Farr recently shared his perspective on the ongoing Bud Light controversy and Garth Brooks' comments about serving the beer at his new bar. Farr's viewpoint is that the situation has been overblown and people should focus on their own lives. "I live out in the country. I kind of mind my own damn business," Farr stated in an interview with Fox News Digital. "I think more people should mind their own damn business...the world would be a hell of a lot better place."

He emphasized that personal choices don't bother him as long as they aren't imposed on others, adding, "If people want to drink Bud Light, go ahead. I don't drink beer anyway...But it is kind of like the last couple of years in our society has just been just full of silly stuff...nonsense."

Farr believes the public's reaction to the controversy has been excessive. "I just think it gets kind of silly when people are trying to make huge statements… on a beer can," he commented. He suggested that people simply choose what they want to drink without making a big fuss.

The conversation shifted to Farr's new EP, "Rednecks Like Me," releasing July 14th. The title track, he explained, reflects his personal values and celebrates his country roots. He clarified his interpretation of the term "redneck," stating it represents hardworking individuals who stay true to themselves regardless of trends. "It's the people I hang out with now where I live...They're just good old boys and...you know, sometimes we do some redneck s---," he joked.

The EP also features a collaboration with Jason Aldean and Jelly Roll on the song "Country as S---." Farr praised Jelly Roll's talent and personality, highlighting the song as a perfect fit for the rapper's unfiltered style.

Farr expressed pride in "Rednecks Like Me" as his first project where he wrote every song. He also noted a tribute to the military within the title track and mentioned upcoming performances at military bases. The EP includes personal tracks, such as one dedicated to his daughter.

Beyond his country image, Farr revealed his background in classical opera singing, which began in seventh grade. He acknowledged his mother's influence in starting his vocal training and how it unexpectedly grew on him. While he initially preferred other genres, he recognized the benefits of classical training in improving his vocal range and control, skills that have served him well during his country music career.

Farr humorously attributed his gravelly speaking voice to years of performing in honky-tonks. He concluded by expressing his appreciation for country music fans, praising their down-to-earth nature and loyalty. He connected with them through shared experiences, which influences his songwriting.
