A taxi cab incident on Christmas Day in New York City's bustling Herald Square resulted in injuries to at least six pedestrians. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. ET at the intersection of 6th Avenue and West 34th Street, near the renowned Macy's department store.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), the taxi driver involved is a 58-year-old man. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The injured pedestrians were transported to local hospitals for treatment, with reported injuries ranging from lacerations to head and leg injuries. A 9-year-old boy sustained leg lacerations, a 41-year-old woman suffered a head injury, and a 49-year-old woman incurred a leg injury. The remaining individuals declined further medical attention at the scene.

Herald Square, a major intersection of Broadway, Sixth Avenue, and 34th Street, is a popular tourist destination, particularly during the holiday season. The area experiences high pedestrian traffic, especially during Christmas Day.
