Ralph Macchio, star of "Cobra Kai," recently revealed his secret to a long-lasting marriage: staying grounded outside of Hollywood. In an interview at the "Cobra Kai" season 6 part 3 premiere, the 63-year-old actor emphasized the importance of balancing his career with family life. He credits his wife of 38 years, Phyllis Fierro, for being a stabilizing force in their lives.
Macchio and Fierro first met when he was just 15, eventually marrying in 1987. They have two children, Julia and Daniel. Julia has joined her father on screen, appearing in seasons 4 and 5 of "Cobra Kai." She describes the experience as a "blessing," admiring her father's professionalism and supportive nature.
Reflecting on "The Karate Kid" franchise's enduring success, Macchio expressed surprise at its longevity, acknowledging the strong connection he shared with Pat Morita and the rest of the original cast. He emphasized the dedication of the writers in crafting compelling storylines for both the original and younger cast members.
Interestingly, despite portraying a karate master on screen, Macchio admits to having avoided real-life fights, preferring negotiation over physical confrontation.
"Cobra Kai" season 6 part 3 is currently streaming on Netflix.
