Quick-Thinking Bystander Rescues Driver from Submerged Car in Fort Lauderdale Pool

A dramatic incident unfolded in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when a young woman accidentally drove her car through a fence and into a swimming pool. Fortunately, a nearby resident, T.J. Yarborough, witnessed the event and immediately jumped into action. As the car quickly became submerged, Yarborough rushed to the vehicle and found the driver, understandably shocked, inside. He was unable to open the car doors, but thankfully the car's electric windows still functioned. Yarborough helped the woman escape through the window, pulling her to safety just as the water level rose inside the vehicle. Emergency crews later arrived and extracted the sedan from the pool using a crane. Remarkably, no one was injured in the accident, and residents expressed relief that the pool, frequently used by children, was empty at the time of the incident. Yarborough simply described the driver as "a little shook up" but otherwise unharmed.
