The patient's wife then praised the NHS for her husband's decade-long care, prompting the husband to describe the staff as "ugly, but good," much to William's amusement.
As the conversation continued, the patient then offered his opinion on Kate Middleton, stating, "And your wife's not bad. She's a nice lady as well." This candid compliment caused William to burst into laughter, exclaiming about the patient's chattiness and warning him that the nurses were keeping an eye on him.
This incident isn't the first time someone has expressed their admiration for the Princess of Wales to her husband. In 2020, during a royal visit to Ireland, a woman told William how much she admired both him and Kate. William reportedly responded by saying, "I do too," when the woman declared her love for Kate.
William's visit to the Oak Cancer Centre was part of his role as president of The Royal Marsden, a position previously held by his mother, Princess Diana. The Prince and Princess of Wales are scheduled to visit Scotland in July for the coronation celebrations of King Charles and Queen Camilla. While in Scotland, they will be known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay.
