Smith's parting words, captured on video, ignited a firestorm of accusations and debate within the poker community. Fellow player Hayley Hanna echoed Smith's sentiments on social media, alleging Kabrhel has a history of marking cards and creating an unpleasant playing environment through his conduct. She called for Kabrhel's ban to maintain the integrity of the game.

Andrew Robl joined the chorus of criticism, expressing disbelief that Kabrhel was still allowed to participate in the WSOP, claiming to have witnessed him marking cards. The controversy escalated further when Kabrhel responded to the accusations, vehemently denying any cheating and announcing his intention to pursue legal action against Robl for defamation.

Kabrhel attributed the accusations to personal animosity and maintained that his behavior, while perhaps unconventional, does not constitute cheating. Despite the controversy, he finished third in the Super High Roller Bowl.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that tournament organizers have launched an investigation into the allegations against Kabrhel, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game. They assured players that the matter is being taken seriously but declined further comment while the investigation is underway.
