North Las Vegas Police Officer Jason Roscow Killed in Line of Duty

The North Las Vegas Police Department is grieving the loss of Officer Jason Roscow, a 17-year veteran of the force, who was killed in a shootout on February 4, 2025. The incident also resulted in the death of the male suspect.

Officer Roscow, 46, was remembered by the department as a friend, mentor, and valued member of the law enforcement community. His career began in patrol and later included 11 years in the Traffic Division, where he received the Exemplary Service Award. He returned to Patrol Operations in February 2024.

The tragic event unfolded around 2:13 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a man brandishing a firearm. Upon arrival, the suspect fled, leading to a foot pursuit. A confrontation ensued, resulting in an exchange of gunfire where Officer Roscow was fatally wounded. Despite being struck multiple times, he managed to return fire, hitting the suspect. Both were transported to a local hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

A procession involving officers from various law enforcement agencies escorted Officer Roscow's body to the Clark County coroner's office. The department expressed its profound sorrow and emphasized Roscow's dedication and bravery. They requested privacy and respect for his family and colleagues during this difficult time.

This incident marks the first officer-involved shooting for the North Las Vegas Police Department in 2025. The suspect's identity has not yet been released.
