Atlanta-based music entrepreneur and songwriter, Justin "J Wright" Wright, has received a life sentence without parole for the murder of his girlfriend, Wilanna Bibbs. Wright, 34, was convicted of first-degree murder in April and sentenced on Wednesday, according to reports. He was known for founding Camp Entertainment Worldwide in 2011, a company that collaborated with prominent artists such as Bow Wow, Timbaland, Kash Doll, and DJ Khaled, and achieved multi-platinum success as a songwriter.
The victim, 20-year-old Wilanna Bibbs, was an aspiring singer from Durham, North Carolina. She was tragically shot and killed on May 9, 2021, at a residence in Davenport, Iowa, where she and Wright were visiting Wright's family. During the sentencing hearing, Bibbs' father, Thomas Bibbs, delivered a heartbreaking statement, revealing that his daughter's life was taken over a mere $70 dispute. The couple had been dating for a few months prior to the incident.

Wright remained silent throughout the sentencing. A poignant moment occurred as his mother requested to bid her son farewell, but her request was denied by a deputy escorting Wright from the courtroom.
