Maryland Man Accused of Fatal Forklift Attack at Home Depot

A 20-year-old Waldorf, Maryland man, Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown, faces serious charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and assault after a deadly incident involving a stolen forklift. The victim, 73-year-old Gloristine Pinkney, also of Waldorf, was tragically killed in the parking lot of a Home Depot.

The incident began with a burglary at a Lowe's Home Improvement store around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday. Brown allegedly stole a forklift from the store, crashing through the rear gates to escape. He then drove the forklift to a nearby Home Depot where he rammed a parked car. Pinkney was asleep inside the vehicle and managed to escape the initial impact. However, authorities report Brown pursued her with the forklift, running her over before stealing her car and fleeing. Pinkney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement, investigating the initial Lowe's burglary, discovered the forklift at the Home Depot and found Pinkney beneath it. After an investigation, Brown was identified as the suspect and apprehended later on July 2nd. Pinkney’s vehicle was recovered near Brown’s residence. Investigators believe the attack was random, as there's no indication Brown and Pinkney knew each other.

Brown is currently held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
