LIV Golf is set to significantly broaden its viewership in 2025 thanks to a new multiyear media rights agreement with FOX Sports. A majority of the league's tournaments will be broadcast on FOX or FS1, with additional coverage on FOX Business, FS2, and the FOX Sports app. Streaming will also be available on the FOX Sports app and for LIV Golf+ subscribers.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting FOX Sports' prominent position in the broadcasting landscape. He emphasized that the agreement marks a significant step in the league's growth trajectory, aligning it with major sports leagues and conferences. O’Neil also noted the appeal of LIV Golf to a younger, more digitally engaged audience and the potential of the partnership to further enhance the viewing experience.
Once a controversial breakaway league from the PGA Tour, LIV Golf has gained traction by attracting prominent golfers such as Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Phil Mickelson.
After initially streaming on social media and then securing a TV deal with the CW, the agreement with FOX Sports represents a major advancement for the league's media presence. Koepka praised FOX Sports' ability to bring sports to life and expressed excitement about how they will showcase LIV Golf's distinctive format. Rahm echoed this sentiment, calling the partnership a significant step forward for the league and its fans, highlighting FOX Sports' reputation for high-quality sports coverage.
LIV Golf’s 54-hole format, incorporating both individual and team competitions at renowned golf courses, continues to attract attention. Rahm recently secured an individual title, followed by Joaquin Niemann, Sergio Garcia, and Tyrell Hatton, while Crushers GC, featuring DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, Anirban Lahiri, and John Catlin, claimed the team victory.
