Joyce Craig, the current mayor of Manchester, New Hampshire, has officially launched her campaign for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. Craig, who made history as the city's first female mayor in 2017, highlights her track record of electoral success and tangible achievements during her two terms in office. Her campaign announcement emphasizes her leadership in driving job growth, reducing violent crime, and expanding affordable housing opportunities in Manchester. She aims to address these same issues statewide, along with focusing on public education and safeguarding abortion access.

Craig asserts that communities throughout New Hampshire grapple with similar challenges faced by Manchester. She believes residents deserve a governor who collaborates effectively with municipalities to address these shared concerns and deliver positive outcomes for families. Cinde Warmington, the sole Democrat on the governor’s Executive Council, is also vying for the Democratic nomination. The Executive Council is a five-member body responsible for approving state agency leaders, judicial appointments, and state contracts. Republican Governor Chris Sununu has not yet disclosed whether he intends to pursue a fifth term.
