In a recent interview, actor Josh Brolin shared a rather unsettling anecdote from his childhood involving his father, James Brolin, and the family's pet pigs. During a conversation on "In Depth with Graham Bensinger," Brolin recounted the incident with a mix of humor and disbelief.
Brolin, now 56, explained that he had raised two pigs named Oink and Snort. One evening at dinner, his father revealed that the meal they were enjoying was one of the beloved pets. "Guess what you’re eating?" James reportedly asked. "Either Oink or Snort." Brolin expressed his astonishment at his father's decision to share this information, particularly in a seemingly celebratory manner. "Why would you tell a kid that?" he questioned. "It makes no sense."
Ironically, before realizing the truth, young Josh had declared the ribs to be the "best [he'd] ever had." He went on to describe his father as a "super friendly" individual with an unusual communication style, comparing it to a red light at a freeway entrance that never turns green.
Brolin did not specify his age at the time of the incident. He is currently married to Kathryn Boyd, with whom he has two daughters. He also has two children from a previous marriage. His father, James Brolin, is now married to Barbra Streisand. James has two other children from previous relationships.
