Joe Burrow's Big Purchase: A Million Batmobile

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, one of the NFL's highest earners, has made a unique investment: a Batmobile. During an episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks," Burrow revealed to teammates Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins that he's put down a hefty $2.99 million for one of the ten officially licensed and fully functional replicas produced by Wayne Enterprises Experiences.

This extraordinary vehicle boasts a 525-horsepower General Motors engine, a smokescreen system, imitation gun turrets, and a jet engine simulator. While it won't have the iconic flames shooting from the exhaust like Bruce Wayne's ride, it's still a significant purchase that even prompted Burrow to joke about needing the matching "expensive catsuit."

The purchase comes after Burrow signed a lucrative $275 million contract extension in 2023, securing his position as the Bengals' franchise quarterback. Despite his impressive individual performance in 2024, leading the league in passing yards and touchdowns, the Bengals have struggled with a 4-8 record, a point of frustration for the young quarterback.

The "Hard Knocks" episode, covering all four AFC North teams, offered a glimpse into the Bengals' season, including their recent loss to the Steelers, extending their losing streak to three games. Burrow, while leading the league in several passing categories, expressed his frustration with the team's performance.
