Jimmy Carter's Legacy Remembered: Kindness, Faith, and Humanitarian Work

People gathered outside Washington D.C.'s National Cathedral for former President Jimmy Carter's funeral shared their memories of his kindness, deep faith, and tireless humanitarian efforts with Fox News Digital.

Carter, who passed away on December 29th at the age of 100, holds the distinction of being the only American president to reach the century mark. Multiple memorial services have been held in both Washington D.C. and Georgia to honor the 39th president.

In keeping with tradition, a memorial service took place at the National Cathedral on Thursday. Fox News Digital interviewed attendees outside the funeral, capturing their reflections on President Carter's enduring legacy.

"My mother, an Arkansas delegate to the '76 convention, brought me along when Carter campaigned in our state. I remember him being incredibly kind," she recounted. Her husband added his perspective on Carter's remarkable life. Another attendee emphasized Carter's dedication to service beyond his presidency. "His political career was relatively brief, perhaps 8 to 10 years, but his true legacy lies in his lifelong humanitarian work. He treated everyone with compassion and respect," they explained.
