Hegseth and Homan Vow Border Security Enhancement Amid Rising Threats

Fox News host Lawrence Jones recently joined Acting Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Border Czar Tom Homan on a border tour in El Paso, Texas, providing a firsthand account of the Trump administration's efforts to bolster border security and curb illegal immigration. The visit highlighted the collaborative efforts between border agents and the U.S. military to address the ongoing migrant surge.

Hegseth emphasized the critical link between border security and national security, underscoring the administration's commitment to supporting the troops and fulfilling the American people's mandate for enhanced border control. During an aerial survey of the U.S.-Mexico border, Jones observed the existing border wall and discussed plans for further construction.

Both Hegseth and Homan expressed confidence in achieving operational control of the southern border swiftly, prioritizing internal enforcement and preventative measures to stem the flow of illegal immigration. They pledged to expedite the process, emphasizing their determination to go beyond simply waiting for the end of President Trump's term.

The escalating tensions at the border were also brought to light, with reports indicating that Mexican cartels have been authorized to target U.S. personnel, including border agents, using kamikaze drones and explosives. An internal memo alerted federal agents to this threat, advising them to exercise heightened caution and utilize protective gear. Hegseth and Homan condemned such actions, asserting that the U.S. military will not be intimidated by cartel threats.
