A carbon dioxide fire extinguisher exploded, resulting in the death of one student and injuries to five others. Rescuers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation, a prominent Thai rescue organization, confirmed the casualties. A representative, Anyawut Phoampai, suggested that the extinguisher might have malfunctioned due to prolonged exposure to heat or sunlight.
Firefighters are currently investigating the explosion site to determine the exact cause of the malfunction. This tragic event raises concerns about the safety and maintenance of fire safety equipment in schools.
