A seven-year-old boy defied the odds, surviving five days alone in Zimbabwe's Matusadonha game park, a wilderness teeming with elephants, lions, and other wildlife. The boy, Tinotenda Pudu, was lost after wandering away from his home and becoming disoriented. He was eventually located by park rangers after covering nearly 15 miles, a remarkable feat for a child his age.
Tinotenda's survival has been hailed as a miracle by local officials. Mutsa Murombedzi, a Member of Parliament in Zimbabwe, shared the incredible story on social media, describing the boy's ordeal as "harrowing." He reportedly slept on rocky outcrops, foraged for wild fruits, and endured the presence of dangerous predators.
Matusadonha game park, according to African Parks, is home to a diverse range of animals, including lions, leopards, buffalo, zebras, elephants, hippos, and antelope. The community rallied around the search for Tinotenda, with the Nyaminyami people reportedly using nightly drumbeats in the hope of guiding him back.
Murombedzi expressed gratitude for the boy's safe return, attributing it to "the power of unity, hope, prayer and never giving up." The boy's age was confirmed to the BBC.
