On Flag Day, Senator Roger Marshall introduced the One Flag for All Act, legislation designed to ensure the American flag is the primary flag displayed on federal buildings and properties. This action follows a recent White House Pride event where the placement of the Pride flag sparked controversy.

Senator Marshall expressed concern that the Biden administration's display of the Pride flag was a breach of US Flag Code and prioritized a social agenda over patriotism. He emphasized the importance of the American flag as a symbol of liberty and justice for all, representing the sacrifices made by service members and veterans.
The proposed legislation permits limited exceptions, such as flags of visiting diplomats, state flags of members of Congress, and the POW/MIA flag at military installations. While a Twitter community note clarified that the White House display didn't technically violate flag code, several political figures echoed Marshall's sentiments.

Former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and Representative Chip Roy criticized the display, citing concerns about prioritizing a "woke" agenda and disrespecting the flag. Chad Prather, a political commentator, also voiced his disapproval. This debate extends beyond the White House, as the House Appropriations Committee is considering legislation regarding flag displays on Department of Veterans Affairs properties following concerns about the prominence of Pride flags.

The White House has not yet commented on the proposed legislation or the ongoing discussion surrounding flag displays.
