A coalition of twenty Republican attorneys general, spearheaded by Kansas AG Kris Kobach, have declared their support for President-elect Trump's anticipated stricter immigration policies. They express their commitment to reinforcing Trump's "America First" approach, particularly his "Remain in Mexico" policy and increased deportations. Kobach emphasized the existing legal framework supporting these policies, stating that Trump possesses the necessary statutory authority to implement them.

The attorneys general criticize the Biden administration's actions on immigration, claiming they weakened border security and encouraged illegal immigration. They highlighted their successful legal challenges against the Biden administration's immigration policies. They also anticipate Trump will fully rescind the DACA program.

The attorneys general from Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Tennessee joined Kobach in signing the statement. They have been actively involved in legal action against the Biden administration over the past four years, achieving victories such as the preliminary injunction against the suspension of new oil and gas leases on federal land and the vacating of the administration's Title IX rule.

Kobach expressed gratitude for the anticipated shift in immigration policy under Trump, emphasizing the importance of enforcing existing laws and adhering to Congressional mandates.
