Campers stumbled upon what seems to be a human skull at Yellow Banks Park, located approximately 10 miles southeast of Des Moines, Iowa. The discovery was made on a sandbar close to a boat ramp last Friday, and promptly reported to Polk County Sheriff's deputies. Following a search of the surrounding area, no additional remains were found. The skull is currently under investigation by detectives and the medical examiner’s office to determine its origin and any other relevant details. Yellow Banks Park spans over 500 acres and features a Native American burial mound and hiking trails.
