Missouri Man Faces Murder Charge After Fatal High-Speed Crash in Kansas

A 24-year-old Missouri man is facing serious charges, including first-degree murder, following a devastating crash in suburban Kansas City. Uconn Coleman, a resident of Grain Valley, is currently held on a $500,000 bond. The incident occurred around 1:35 a.m. Thursday in Merriam, Kansas. According to police, an officer attempted to stop Coleman for speeding. Mere seconds later, and before a pursuit could begin, Coleman's vehicle collided with another car stopped at an intersection. Tragically, the driver of the stopped vehicle, 19-year-old Benjamin Klecza, sustained critical injuries and later passed away. Coleman's defense attorney, Carl Cornwell, described his client as deeply remorseful and distraught over the fatal outcome. Coleman also faces charges of eluding police and driving under the influence.
