Fan Fight Erupts During Saint Louis Billikens Victory Over VCU Rams

A heated altercation disrupted the Saint Louis Billikens' 78-69 triumph over the VCU Rams in a men's basketball game Tuesday night. The incident, captured on the CBS Sports broadcast, unfolded near the VCU bench in the final moments of the game. Two spectators were seen grappling and tumbling down several rows of seats as onlookers attempted to intervene.

Security personnel rushed to quell the disturbance, causing a seven-minute delay in the game at Chaifetz Arena. It remains unclear whether any arrests resulted from the brawl. Following the interruption, Saint Louis maintained their composure to secure the win.

Gibson Jimerson spearheaded the Billikens' scoring with 26 points, complemented by Kobe Johnson's 19 points, propelling the team to a crucial Atlantic 10 Conference victory. Robbie Avila also contributed significantly with 14 points. For VCU, Zeb Jackson and Phillip Russell each tallied 15 points, while Max Shulga added 14. The loss snapped VCU’s six-game winning streak, dropping their record to 16-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

The Billikens, trailing by three points at halftime, rallied behind Jimerson’s impressive 16-point second-half performance. The victory improved their overall standing to 13-8 and 6-2 within the conference.
