Actor Ezra Miller has broken their silence following the dismissal of a temporary harassment order, claiming the protective measure was weaponized against them. A Massachusetts court lifted the order last week after a hearing, prompting Miller to express gratitude for the support received during the ordeal.
In a social media statement, Miller criticized the misuse of protective orders, emphasizing their intended purpose to safeguard vulnerable individuals and families facing genuine danger, not to be wielded for personal vendettas or attention-seeking behavior. Miller directly accused an individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, of manipulative and destructive actions, suggesting they were the target of a smear campaign.
The harassment order, issued in November 2022, stemmed from allegations made by the family of a 12-year-old. The family had expressed concern over Miller's interactions with the child, particularly the offering of gifts even after they were declined. At the time, the court deemed there was a substantial likelihood of immediate danger of harassment.

This wasn't the first protective order against Miller. Another was granted to Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle, who alleged Miller had physically and emotionally abused their teenager, Tokata Iron Eyes. Tokata, however, refuted these claims, characterizing them as an irresponsible smear campaign and denying any grooming or abuse by Miller.
Miller's past also includes two arrests in Hawaii in 2022 for disorderly conduct and harassment, and later, second-degree assault. While pleading no contest to disorderly conduct and receiving a $500 fine, the harassment charge was dropped. Prosecutors have not pursued formal charges in the assault case. Additionally, Miller pleaded guilty to trespassing in Vermont for breaking into a neighbor's home and stealing alcohol, resulting in a year of probation and a $500 fine. During that time, Miller publicly apologized and acknowledged struggling with mental health challenges.

Miller concluded their statement by expressing a commitment to personal well-being and addressing the repercussions of these events on themselves and their loved ones. They extended gratitude to those who offered support throughout the challenging period.
