A woman in California has been charged with the murder of her 7-month-old infant daughter, according to authorities. Early Saturday morning, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call in Adelanto where they discovered the baby unresponsive. Deputies administered CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the child to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The ensuing investigation revealed evidence of trauma indicative of child abuse, leading investigators to suspect the mother's involvement. 36-year-old Mayra Rodriguez-Garcia now faces charges of murder, torture, and child abuse resulting in death. She is currently held without bail at the High Desert Detention Center. The investigation remains active.
