Aaron Rodgers Discusses Political Interests, Kennedy Connection in Netflix Documentary

In the second installment of his three-part Netflix series, "Enigma," New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers delved into his growing interest in politics, including his connection with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Earlier this year, before Kennedy withdrew his independent presidential bid and endorsed Donald Trump, there was speculation about Rodgers potentially serving as his running mate.

Rodgers revealed that his interest in politics began in high school, sparked by the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He recounted a conversation with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a hike, sharing how reading the Warren Commission report led him to question the official narrative. His time at UC Berkeley, a politically charged environment, further challenged his perspectives, having come from a conservative upbringing.

Rodgers expressed disillusionment with the two-party system, viewing it as essentially a single entity driven by financial interests. He stated that Kennedy's candidacy was the first time he felt a renewed sense of hope in the political landscape.

While Rodgers confirmed Kennedy's proposition to be his running mate, he ultimately chose to remain in football with the Jets. He acknowledged contemplating a future beyond the sport but emphasized his love for the game and his desire to continue playing, particularly after a disappointing previous season.

The documentary also addressed a report alleging that Rodgers had shared conspiracy theories regarding the Sandy Hook shooting. Rodgers firmly denied these claims, expressing his dismay at such mischaracterizations.
